Knizley in the Wind?...3/13

Andrew Knizley, CEO of PRMC has his walking papers...but maybe he doesn't know it yet!

Who does know? Most of E$$ent.

Richard Salerno, will be taking care of our little problem in Paris, despite having some baggage of his own.

Richard just left a sinking ship, a little late, however, since the hospital had already gone under. Carraway Medical, a 615 bed facility, filed Chapter 11 in September, at which time Dick was the COO. They're in the midst of being purchased by a group of approximately 54 physicians.

In the interm, he's been made the CEO--at least on their website. Rumor has him seen in extensively in Nashville.

Guess Andrew needs to pack up his Rolls.... Guess Essent just spat....

Taking care of "our" problem here in Paris? More likely Hud's problems if you ask me.

Snake oil, dulcet tones, honeyed lies, employee abuse and PATHETIC HEALTHCARE is "our" problem here in Paris, Texas. Get it right from the get go.

Rotsa Ruck, Dick.

Well, I'd say that Dick's first job is to sit down and read the blog from beginning to end.

Hopefully Ken Miller is right behind "Big Knizley!" Wonder if "Top Dog Hashmi" will be looking for a new place as well!!!

Come on! Your info about Salerno is wrong all the way around. Complain about Essent if you will, but at least get the facts right. Salerno was at Carraway on behalf of an outside management firm. Their job was to hold that sinking ship together so the hospital could be sold through a lengthy bankruptcy process. That he and that management firm kept Carraway from closing its doors (and successfully sold the thing) is nothing short of remarkable. BTW: The deal to sell Carraway to a group of local doctors and others was completed months ago.

Actually Hud, the physician's group was gathered long before the September filing date...and they were the only bidders on the facility. Since there have been no denials, guess the follow-ups go in as well....frank

Another sign that the Apocalypse is upon us- another Hud-drone whose track record is one of sinking ships. Get the lifeboats ready, folks.......

The only strawberry in this manure pile is that Andy K is on his way out. All I can say is:

don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya!

And find some room in your baggage to stash Cheryl Perry, if you would..........

If he's so good, why couldn't he keep ARCON afloat?

Physicians-Carraway Medical Center had only one bid at the bankruptcy auction, and that was for $26.5M. If Essent was so well off, why didn't they buy that? Would seem that they had an inside track, would it not?

Heck, 615 beds would have doubled their size again! And at considerably less than they paid for PRMC.

Maybe the investors are getting a bit leary with Hud's acquisitions....frank

Guess Knizley wasn't "going in the same direction as Essent". Yeah, have a lot of compassion for the man.

And Dick, we're not impressed, Igor never was too bright or camera friendly.

All I can say is the new CEO's nickname is right on target.

FYI: Carraway had two bidders -- Doctors Community (of Scottsdale, Az) and GP Medical Ventures (a JV with Birmingham, Ala. docs). GP and the local docs won the bid.

Sorry, the article I read had a single bidder.

Wow! I just wishing for a Christmas present when I posted this comment on 12/22/06. Who knew it would happen just a few days late?

"With the departure of guys like Pinion and Heburn, it appears that Hud doesn't have the love for HMA alumni like he once did. Knizley, who was Heburn's golden child at HMA, might want to be polishing his resume. It doesn't look like those E$$ent stock options are going to be worth anything any time soon."

I had a friend that was in PRMC recently. He was transferred to Medical City Dallas. His doctor in Dallas told him that he should get a t-shirt that read "I survived the Paris Hospital". PRMC is really getting a name for itself for poor medical care.

For the history buff in you, check the posts at this link. It's from May and it mentions directors checking the blog to see if they were fired!

My hat's off, Frank

The new CEO should look and see why so many old employees of PRMC are no rehires now because of Sheryl Perry. Some people think she is the anti-Christ.

It may be that Cheryl has evened some old scores in practice...

With what he's coming into, he has to look askance at everything and one....frank

The last straw for Andy was when the orthopedic group (the only cash cow Andy thought he had on his side) came to the table and complained about Andy and his tactics. Seems there were some threats made there and low and behold Andy disappeared. Seems that the cash cows of cardiology and radiology are not totally on his side now lose the 3rd part of the profit makers and you have nothing but a bucket of blood with holes in the bottom. Maybe ASSent will step up and realize that you have to have a quality cardiac and radiology departments if they sit and listen to the doctors and make it a team effort, not a strong hold of how thing are going to be done.

Update

Looks like Andy is applying with MedCath Inc., a North Carolina firm. Well, they found the-paris-site, and probably most others will as well.

Kind of ironic that Knizley would be applying for a position with a company that does cardiac caths when his working relationships with the Cardiac group and the RR boys was less than stellar....frank

The next check-out was SRI Surgical, which prides itself on solutions for the OR--including infection control, staff retention, patient safety, Quality of Care, Physician/Staff satisfaction---now did they want an example of what not to do? If so, Andy is far over qualified...and they got an eyefull....frank

Two more searches on Andy, both from different areas of the country. You can run, Andy, but anymore, you can't hide.....frank

Pineville,WV (pop 750) has the latest search on Knizley, is he going into mining?

They did spend about a two and a half-hours perusing.... An eyefull, perhaps?
