More Cuts...3/21

If you've noticed an absent face at West Paris Clinic, you might be wondering what happened. Jane Tijerina was let go. Another victim of hasta-la-bye-bye management.

But is it a difference with Jane or T (Dr. Tijerina)? Essent has already sued him as a partner in the original imaging center. (Which is laughable, since he only went in as a favor.) And, he's long since lost his head of med staff to Bercher (maybe it's in the name--Dick.)

T has become disillusioned, as have many of us, with Essent's behavior over the last few years, and is not the staunch supporter that he was with St. Joseph's. I guess the reflection possibly fell Ms Jane.

Or, are the Rural Health Clinics in danger of being closed? Doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that they are marginally profitable at best...Health Solutions closed two, and they were far from that level. Maybe that's why three of the NPs have moonlighted--keeping their options open.

But that would diminish the hospital's patient base that has already gotten thinner. As it is, Cooper Clinic's patients are looking longingly at Greenville's Presby, and Bogata's at Clarksville. Without those referrals, things might slip even more. What a pity....

OMG. This is like a nightmare. You keep wondering where it will end.

That would mean that their corporate behavior is that of a spoiled child...Frank, say it isn't so....

How short-sighted can they be?? Jane provides high quality medical care to an underserved population, and like all nurse practitioners in this community, she is loved by her patients. I can't imagine that the salary that she was being paid wasn't cost effective for PRMC and the business she generated for the hospital.

Every decision that these people make seems to make sense only in the context of the next three months.

718,

Amen. I don't know how I will break it to some of her pt.s.

The sad thing is while yes, it's probably true the rural clinics don't bring in much cash, they do provide a much needed service to those communities as the bulk of their patients are indigent and elderly. But then we know how much Essent cares about its patients!

At this point, revenue is revenue, and with the prize milk cow beginning to dry up, it would take a damfool to remove other revenue sources.

Oh, I forgot, silly me.....a damfool (no names, but his initials are Hud)is in charge of this horrorshow.

My condolences to Jane T. on getting messed over like this- sadly, I know how she feels. But don't worry, Jane- crap like this may happen, but eventually you WILL come out of this smelling like a bouquet of roses.

Hang in there, girl!

What a slap in the face!!!

They must be trying to shut it all down. Jane was the best NP they have ever had. I would use no other. I always made my appointments on Mondays or Tuesdays just to be sure to see Jane. She's the only one who really cared about her patients. All I can say is they got rid of the wrong one.

Good luck and God Bless to Jane. She knows God will take care of her. He's got better things for her in the future.

We love ya Jane......

To the 12:57 post...

I agree with everything you say EXCEPT that "they got rid of the wrong one"!

Just curious about that comment...

I know every one of PRMC's Nurse Practitioners, and they all give excellent care that rivals or even exceeds care given by some excellent physicians...I prefer to bring my family members to them because of this!!

Add to that the fact that they practice in underserved areas with patients who put off medical care due to financial reasons, and the stress of dealing with Essent's money grubbing mentality and resulting substandard equipment, etc...most people with that level of education wouldn't put up with this situation for long.

Hopefully Essent will consider that the service the clinics provide (and resulting PR for PRMC) before they decide that the slight profit the clinics make isn't worth the effort.

I can not think of two more respected and loved individuals than T and Jane. They're caring, respectful and compassionate care has served this area well over the years. Though I am sorry that Jane had to endure the latest machinations of Mad Hatter management, I hope she WILL serve the patients in this area again, only somewhere else. AND, the patients will follow. Much to E$$ents dismay. Again, these people don't have a clue, and will continue to cut back even more. They are shameful in their greed and stupidity and lack of concern for healthcare overall.

Why does Dr. Bercher have a contract with the city of Paris? Employees have been told that if they use him he will treat htem 24/7 ? Did any other Doctors get a chance at this contract?

The city of paris sent a bid out to all doctors in paris and the only one to respond was bercher, so the city insurance awarded him the contract. you have to make a appointment to see him, you can't just walk in and expect to get seen.
