Smoke II

Well, this time PRMC came out of the closet. The Paris News put out a somewhat confusing article today. What it seems to boil down to: Essent wanted an audit. Their auditors conducted a partial one. When they wanted to come back, the Radiology Center said they had to pay, up front, for the costs associated with the audit (personnel, overtime, etc.) They were not willing to do so, in turn, they issued findings based on an incomplete audit and commenced a lawsuit.

What is funny about this: they are suing themselves. They own a partial interest in the MRI. What is not so funny: it eats up time, and money.
Do you think that the money for both sides appears out of thin air? If so, it disappeared from our pockets. I am sure that Essent, out of the goodness of their heart, will absorb the costs, and "Hud" will just apply the normal $5,000 he donates to candidates and Political Action Committees (yep, "PACs". See why this gets confusing?) per year, to the lawsuit. Likewise, I am sure that "T" and the co-defendants are going to pull out pocket change and handle it. Yeah, r-i-g-h-t.

It hurts the community, because we all pay for it. The only ones that are getting rich off of this are the lawyers.

You have to follow the money, however, and Essent has never claimed altruism as a fault. It still comes back to the imaging money and getting rid of competition. I still think they want to be the last man standing, and the smoke has yet to clear....

Note: What gets confusing is the imaging entities: Magnetic Imaging of Paris, Radiology Inc, Radiology Center of Paris, Red River Valley Radiology Associates, and PRMC. Who did what and to whom is sometimes nebulous in the extreme.

What I worry about is when there is only ONE.

Now we know. A few weeks ago, a family member needed a CT. When we asked if we could just go to the Radiology Center, the doc was curious as to why we didn't want to go to the hospital. We explained our lack of confidence in the hospital and told him since we were paying for it, we would choose where we wanted to go. Are the docs divided as to those who support the hospital and those who don't?

I firmly believe that RRVR will be the last man standing. 50 years of service to this community, and Essent has an insubstantial 2 plus. From the get go folks, the key phrase here is "FOR PROFIT". PRMC/ESSENT will get it's money's worth out of the Paris community and will exit without the "princess wave" or a thank you. We will be left to pick up the pieces and have a grossly affected economy as a result of their parasitc visit. Old Man Dollar is all these folks (PRMC/ESSENT) care about, make no mistake, and with no conern as to WHO it affects! Hang on Paris......it's gonna be a bumpy ride!

The other reason to not go to the hospital CT is speed. Outpatient CTs are done with much slower equipment at the North Campus. The South Campus CT is MUCH faster. The RR CT seems faster yet, it maybe that the technician was just better at it, but it might be that the order in which I got them S, N, and then RR made the difference.

How does one look good as a "manager" with Essent? Pull nurses from ER to cover floor nurse shortfalls. Then let ER take the heat for being backed up.

Well we've all seen the announcement of RRVR pulling out and Hud Connery's reply, all via the Paris News. I'm sorry, but who/what the heck is Hud Connery???? Does he have a valid interest in THIS community, I would say and emphatic "NO". I don't care HOW much money he says is being spent on the hospital here. Bottom line is, if you DON'T treat your employees fairly, employ fringe ethics to keep yourself out of court, pump up prices on exams, have failing equipment in of all places ICU (!), and generally create an atmosphere where your staff is walking around like the living dead, afraid to tell management that there are a multitude of problems that affect patient care AND an exodus of experienced medical personnel leaving, THIS COMPANY DOES NOT CARE ABOUT PARIS OR THE INDIVIDUAL PATIENT OR EFFECTIVE HEALTH CARE.......especially, Hud Connery! If he was looking to assure OUR community that everything is hunky dorey, I am afraid he failed.......and miserably! At this point ANYTHING that is submitted to the Paris News by any member of management of PRMC/Essent is like a used car ad to me! Hud, Andrew and several of their mid management henchmen need a career change that better reflects their backgrounds AND capabilities. Come on Paris, wake up! This is your town and your people, its time to put some heat on these carpetbaggers! And for PRMC/Essent to put their money where their mouth is...........not gonna happen folks, SMOKE is ALL they are about!!!

Well RRRads cannot say they are not interested in making a profit. However, all businesses want to do that! I do think they are certainly better managed than Essent/PRMC which will probably make them victorious in the long run.
