Heard some dept managers were urging their folks to send Ducks a thank you card "as they didn't have to do this." Did they or didn't they??
Send him a cookie. Being "urged" to send a thank-you card is classless at best. Ooops, I forgot, it's Duckers here.
Show some love to da Duck, lest ye find thy head on the chopping block next time. Kiss the Duck's butt, and never mind the feathers in your mouth.

Hey thanks duck. I appreciate that you helped me find how awsome things are outside of e$$ent.
write a thank you note to ducks? no thanks. wonder which one of the ducklings suggested that? ducks should be thanking his maker than he still has anyone left to run the hospital.
Another Town Hall meeting next week! Yippee!
Are those propaganda-fests mandatory for all employees?
Oh Duckers, you daffy guy, you just quack me up. How mallardjusted do you think we employees are, that we should believe the rantin' and raven you and the turkeys in Essent try to feed us? Your town meetings are for the birds.
Town Halls are not mandatory (or "non-optional" as Essent prefers)
Heard the second installment of bonus checks is coming April 13th.
Good- I've got too much to do as it is without listening to the BS Duck and his flock are spreading. I'll gladly let someone go in my place.
As for the next round of retention checks, I'll believe it when I see it.
Nice move- instead of putting in to our retirement accounts, pander to the instant-gratification needs of the employees and give it all away now. Where I come from, it's called "eating our seed grain".
If I didn't have such deep ties here, I'da left a long time ago.
Heard that the upcoming bonus check will be smaller than the first one. Why does that not suprise me?
Heard also that at the latest Town Hall meeting Dux said that PRMC and Essent are doing great! Money in the bank, books in the black! Oh yeah! Is that so??? Really??
Just pay no attention to the man behind the curtain...........
Duck, if you're gonna feed us this bull(feces), at least give us large enough slices of bread to make it more edible. Perhaps a little ketchup as well.
Didn't you used to be the Iraqi Information Minister under Saddam Hussein? You DO bear a strange resemblance to "Bagdhad Bob", come to think of it.......
OK, break over.....back to work. Got better things to do than tease the waterfowl.....those x-rays don't develop themselves.
I am no fan of Essent .I am not employed by Essent and I dont particularily think they are competent to run a hospital; however, it seems to me that these hateful denigrations of Essents'"stimulus package" are not only uncalled for but self defeating. The fact that they have given such generous bonuses ,(no matter what their motives)should be greeted with at least some appreciation. To respond with indignation to a generous gift is uncivil and calls into question legitimate greviences that need to be addressed. To be taken seriously one needs to be civil and express appreciation to even your "enemy"if he finally does something right!
Actually, I believe it was more than Christus gave. But, Christus was up front with the reason: Retention. This isn't a 'bonus' for having been here, it's for staying--that's why it's spaced out over this period of time.
Also note this: If they actually pay the full 'bonus', it would be more than what they would have paid to retirement accounts.
They retroactively removed the matching funds after it was too late to pull the contributions. And they used that money plus a bit more to avoid an exodus of the better employees in anticipation of the downsizing to the North Campus.
They aren't dumb. But, they also aren't honest.
Fair enough Fac-P;But none-the-less they gave a bonus . And they should be thanked for that . Their motives can alwas be questioned , but showing appreciation is just good breeding and does no one any harm. There is far to much polarization in all areas of our social lives and gratitude is an antidote for bitterness.Try it!
I do thank someone, when something is offered without guile or strings.
Honesty would've elicited an appropriate response. Manners and breeding are subjective. In some societies, eating grandpa when the time came was considered good taste as well as form.
The social and business worlds do have different customs and mores. In polite society, one must not say s***, even when one has a mouthful. In business, if you didn’t, you would be given another helping.
It used to be that an obligation to fair dealings was felt by both sides in business. I would say: that time has passed, and its loss is mourned by most.
I don't doubt that in some way the employees receiving bonuses/brierby-payments-for-killing-retirement-matching weren't a little grateful for the extra cash- I would be, in a way.
But considering what they did from Day 1 to this point, the skeptic detector has to be beeping. Being told by department directors that it's a good idea to send a thank-you note to Duckers only fuels the skepticism. If there were no strings attached, and this came out of the blue by someone honestly grateful to have those folks as employees, it would be believable. It would be even more believable if the employees were treated as they should be- members of a team working for the betterment of patient care.
That is not a socialistic idea- it's a good idea. Breaking into the granary where the seed corn is kept & giving it away is not.
they didn't have controll of my retirement acct so I was glad to get the checks. I ran to the bank to cash them!! While the money was still there!!
Noticed that at the recent Volunteers Week the PRMC volunteers were called "priceless treasures" which is certainly a lot nicer than what they called employees: "Necessary Terrorists".
Of course the big difference between employees and volunteers is that you have to PAY employees...which of course, makes them the enemy!
I heard the bonuses were given so that the hospital wouldn't have to match 401K contributions.
Last of the "Bonus-Incentive" checks given out. Heard it takes about 4 months to get rack up a vacation day and even longer for sick time. Christus was more generous.
