Casa Rio Rojo? 7/29--New Pic

Guess it's official, Red River Valley Radiology is moving...to the Loop! Despite being one of the most consistent customers of the hospital, the hospital (Essent, PRMC, or the powers that be...) have determined that they need the space...in a building that has noticeable vacancies.

Shame that the convenience of their location to the various medical offices (notably the old Sears and Brookshires buildings) was lost, but if you notice, most of the newer medical offices are moving to the Loop/195 area. In the long run, this will probably benefit the group, but time will tell.

It is amazing that the push to depose the family/locally owned business coincides with the arrival of a new PACs system, which will allow the hospital to farm out the readings to radiologists...in say India, Ireland, or wherever. It's also a shame that the convenience of comparing films brought from outside sources will be lost, or the ability for the physician to review those outside films with a local radiologist (which was a non-charged service.)

Renovation of the former Casa Ole is on-going, and by the looks of things, should meet the May 15th deadline. All they have to do is pick a name for the building...and keep up the service that garnered their move.

Okay, I had to change the date, since the move date changed. Besides, this one is going to go gold by June, I have a feeling....and you know, that lot next-door would make a heck of an outpatient facility.

Looks like they're going to make the deadline!

Heads up-the RRVR docs just handed in their reignations(2/6/06. Read all about it in the Paris News.Looks like we are geting closer to not having a general hospital.

OUCH.......hahaha, don't you know that there were thundering masses at the conference table at PRMC today???? FINALLY, middle and upper management earning their salaries to figure out how the heck they're going to appease the staff Docs. Can't say that there is any pity in MY heart for Essent. Perhaps they'll have to give up their bonuses to entice an outside Rad group to come in and read......from Bangladesh maybe! HA!

Is there a link to the Paris News article? Or can anyone scan it and add it to this site???

All I can say is: Where are we going and why are in this handbasket?

Ok....in regards to the first comment...how about naming the new place: Thank God It's Not PRMC!

Hey, check out the remodeled Casa on the loop! What a nice job! And GREAT location!

I hear they'll have all new equipment... State of the Art 2006... Not 1960!

Friendly, professional techs... even some of the good ones that have left PRMC!

I know where I'll be taking my family!!!!!!

By the way, did anyone get some feedback about the TOPS meeting last month? Guess it had been promo'd as a 'Let's explain away all our troubles' meeting for x-ray. Too bad a RR rad showed up to spoil the party...not! Guess Bev and Bice can't tapdance in front of a critical audience!!!

Feel the tug of the whirlpool, Bev? Don't you just worry your head. That's just the direction y'all are headed.

Anonymous said...

Yea! Bev and Bice were listed at the top of the TOPS agenda for the meeting...

but suddenly had NOTHING to say when some of the RRVR docs showed up!

Makes you wonder just what kind of lies they were about to sread around behind other peoples backs.

Bev's looking auwfully yellow these days... Cowards!

As always, RRR shows what professionalism and a little class will get ya! Imagine that, friendly atmosphere, and well qualified Techs. I can hear the sound of thundering feet HEADED AWAY FROM PRMC for affordable, competent exams. And yes! That lot next to RRR would make and EXCELLENT outpatient facility! Can't wait to see what happens next.

I just love RRR........they've had the cojones since day one, to put Essent in their place. And it couldn't happen to a better bunch of morons in my opinion. Drop in percentages in the Xray department???? Well does that really, really surprise anyone here in Paris. Don't think so, especially when you look at the pitiful example of management they have running the department. When RRR opens, it will be a whole new ball game, and Essent will still be chasing it's tail trying to bring those percentages up (I can hear the death knell sounding for Miss Bev and my heart bleed purple peanut butter over it!), no competition here folks, when you have a choice between and Edsel and a Jaguar, which would you choose????

I hate to bring sad news, but guess all the lying, cheating, back stabbing and very questionable firings has taken a toll on Ms. Bev.

I hear she's been MIA for a few days. Word has it she is in the hospital (heaven forbid: NOT PRMC), but in Tyler. Hmmmmm.

I personally don't wish her any harm, but I do fortell a stress related Workers Comp/ disability retirement in her future. Chalk up another victim to the steller management of E$$ent!

Frank,
What we use for medical buildings always amazes me: A grocery store, a Sears, and now Casa Ole. I thought that you could use some assistance with the pic. Kind of hip....

One thing about moving out to the loop, it takes you out of the old St Joe's neighborhood--the one that has nine registered sex offenders in an eight block radius! Makes one really feel secure walking out to the car on the off-shifts with only one security guard that sits by the door.

Anonymous said...

Hey 2:04 pm...not only should you feel insecure leaving the hospital because of the rough neighborhood around it, have you seen the hospital security?

They are pretty much normal older people, with little physical or security training...very nice, most of them, but how would they help if someone brought a gun into the ER? (or held you up in the parking lot!?)

It is ridiculous to expect staff to park out past Aerofit, then walk out there after dark...staff has been asking about a multi-level parking area, or at least a monitored area for years!!

Is there some old cafe or grocery store they can convert?? Ha!

Anonymous said...

...and obese security. I love it when help has to huff and puff to get to you. Way to many employees, nurse's, dr's cars have been broken into. What does the hospital do? Nothing except cut security.

It's rediculous for staff to park in patient parking when what they really need to be doing is to stop being so lazy and walk from the designated employee parking areas.

Casa Hooray probably won't have to be on the sign........the whole town of Paris will be doing the "HOORAY" for 'em!

To admin 8:01pm1
The day I see all of Mgmt parking in the designated parking lot,(including and during rain and the dark of night) I will also park in the same. Remember you lead by example.

Darn, I forgot this is E$$ent, maybe we need to ask which rule applies TODAY and to WHOM.

Anonymous said...

I agree w/ 7:01 am. I was written up by the same person who always parks in the pt parking. (Who's lg ass needed the walk) We know what you as administration drive. Some of my pt's being d/c'd could not drive out by the over-hang, they all had to back out due to admin. suv's, rolls ect. parked in front of admin. offices.

Anonymous said...

It hasn't been for a while, but wasn't there an abduction from the parking lot, and a stalking/murder that originated in the parking lot?

What a childish attitude. Your resoning is why can't I because they are. So that's how you justify breaking company policy taking up patient parking. Parking around the hospital is a premium to say the least. Maybe if everyone started parking where they were supposed to it would put pressure on admin to do the same. Bet you didn't think about that. Geez... I sure hope your not a nurse, cause I sure wouldn't want you taking care of me if you have this attitude in everything else you do. And no, I'm not admin. You people think everytime someone posts something the least bit contradictory to what everyone else is saying you're immediately peged as being admin. I've got news for you, I'm not admin, just a concerned citizen like yourself who sees both sides of the coin.

Anonymous said...

So admin. doesn't have to follow policy???

Anonymous said...

To the concerned citizen, why dog the nurse? So if was some other discipline it would be ok? They take care of you too, you know. I am tired of everything being nursing's fault. You are not looking at the big picture.

Anonymous said...

Any updates on Ms. Bev?

Anonymous said...

I personally (a nurse) park at the back of ER parking lot.....This week...it was right next to a certain admin....who walked out with me and said...."so you park illegally too"

Anonymous said...

ok 856 i used to work night shift at the hospital and your telling me that i have to walk 2 blocks to my car in the dark @ 2300. i dont think so, not when a girl was abducted and taken to the lake and raped in broad daylight in brookshires parking lot. And besides that most of the smart people are going else where for tx so theres lots of free parking for the taking b/c no one wants to go to prmc.

Anonymous said...

If administration has to follow the same rules on parking--I can assure you security will be beefed up.

Anonymous said...

I have a thought let's all park in the pt parking, since we don't have any patients........ think they will notice.

to the 7:55 post

NAH...... Admin being the brilliant individuals that they are, would probably think their census has gone up and would give themselves a raise!

Hoooooray for Casa Hooray!

The Casa has a name...

...Paris Imaging Center (of excellence)!!!!! I added the last part... the more separation from others the better!

Hoooooray for Casa Radiology!

So is there going to be a Grand Opening with tours and free punch and cookies?? I wanna see the new place!!!

It is nice to see Paris (RRVR) take a tiny step into 2006. When Doctors open their own clinics, out patient surgery centers, or even short term post-op centers the patients tend to get more "bang for the buck". I believe only the hospitals that treat their employees with respect will prevail. Good is contagious.
