Ya Wonder....2/11

By now most know that Essent is in the due-diligence phase of the Brown County General Hospital in Ohio. It is also noted that they didn't bring the commissioners to Paris....

I particularily liked the quote in The Ledger Independent:

"Essent will breathe new life into Brown County General Hospital," Edwards said.

And,

Essent will also provide capital for facility and equipment enhancements and
proposed to invest "significant amounts of capital over the next three years to
include the construction of two new floors with approximately 50 private
inpatient rooms," according to a press release.

Wonder how that plays in the new hospital in Ayer, MA--Oh yeah, they decided not to build that one. And when was that move to the North Campus taking place...let's see now...Oh yeah, in the beginning of the year. This year or last year?

Must be a real good price, and who in the organization is getting their raises and matching funds? Divide that rumored bonus by 2000 hours to find approximately what your actual hourly bonus is.

I'm just waiting for the naming contest. Bet Georgetown Regional Medical Center takes the prize.... Has a ring to it--like the Gong Show....

as a healthcare worker in paris, prmc is a disgust. i have never seen more back stabbing in my life. the crap about moving to north is a joke. hell they can't keep local nurses on the floors or in the er. they have to use contract nurses making double what regular nurses make. i like how they have put up the emergency signs at north. please. what a freaking joke. they don't even have all the equipment to take care of critical patients. thank god there is a ambulance next door that has more stuff on it than the north er. with a staff of two nurses, that makes sense to open up the cardiac er as a minor er. way to go essent. why don't you go back north and leave us alone. we need a real hospital here. baylor or presby can you hear paris screaming for help.

They did the same "smoke and mirrors" hospital naming contest at Greene County. In the end, they picked the one they wanted, and NOT the one the won the election. Clearly, that was the plan from the beginning.

I would bet this is the case in every Essent "hospital", but who really knows.

Keep polishing that turd, Essent. I'm sure that payer mix will change any day now!!

For the good folks of Brown county, three words:

YOU'LL

BE

SOR-REEEEE..........

The Boston Herald.com reports today

Six neediest hospitals to sue state

At least six Massachusetts hospitals say they plan to sue the state to get more money for the care they are required to provide to its neediest residents.

Listed amongst the six hospitals is the Essent owned Merrimack Valley Hospital. Article states they are operating on a shoe string. So how could they possibly be in negotiations to purchase another facility?

Heard that Phyllis the ER Director got the boot the other day by Essent. Thank god, it was about time. About a year overdue!!!

Here's a link to an article I found on msn.com that may be enlightening:

http://msn.careerbuilder.com/Article/MSN-2083-Workplace-Issues-15-Signs-Your-Workplace-is-Dysfunctional/?sc_extcmp=JS_2083_home1&SiteId=cbmsnhp42083&ArticleID=2083&gt1=23000&cbRecursionCnt=1&cbsid=95bcfb299d254260b085f7aed89f81df-311669950-VB-4

I would have cut & pasted the article here, but since it's copyrighted by the author, I figured this was the safer alternative.

Somewhere, I'm sure employees of Essent hospitals (including, perhaps, a few department directors who haven't bought the bullstuff completely) will find things that relate to them and the organization that (mis)directs them.

Charlie’s Angels

How long will it take for Essent Healthcare’s administrative team to realize Charlie Therrien and his two angles – Director of HR and Director of Quality - are running Sharon Hospital into the ground with their lead from a silo approach to management?

i have never before lived in a place where people were terrified of having to go to the hospital (prmc). most unfortunately, in paris, tx, we have no other choice. when i leave here, hopefully soon, that will be one of the primary reasons.
