Actually, posting is what I do, and you have the option of commenting. Mind you, I might take a comment and copy it into a post if it reflects an interesting point of view, or it sheds light on a fairly obtuse subject.
Unless you put your name into a comment, or make it so specific that it couldn't be anyone else, they are anonymous, and show up as "Anonymous said..." People might suspect, but proving is a different kettle of fish. I don't like to publish those and have been known to change minor identifying remarks.
Another way is to send it directly to me at fac_p@hotmail.com. If you trust me, you can send it with your regular email and I will not give it out. If you are a bit insecure about it, you can always create an account with yahoo, or hotmail, and have the identity as anything: Saving Paris might use saveparis@yahoo.com, pop_prmc@yahoo, or saveparis@hotmail.com. The advantage is, I could send back if I needed clarification.
Commenting from your own home computer is as secure as a bank transaction--from your own computer. Unless you are on a PRMC computer, you don't have to worry.
Yes, I did change the blog a little--shifted the left column over and changed it so clicking on the name in the left side column would open an individual post, complete with comments. Printing or changing them to PDF files is almost painful without it...so it was related in an email to me...and since they couldn't log in from work, they decided to print off the sheets and take them in. If there is too much heartburn, I'll change back...takes 2 minutes.
Happy blogging, and I really would like to hear from you.

fac_p, I just wanted to say, I think some great brainstorming is coming from this. I hope something good comes from it.
I know you have done alot of work to get people talking and thinking.
We are learning what we want and what we need. If we can just figure out what we can afford, what we can achieve, and what it will take to get us there, we can make a difference.
What about PJC access? Any tracking there?
No, other than those who can see your screen. The PJC computers (public access/labs/learning center) dump the day's activities with an overnight purge. What is on the computer is only what has been configured for "permanent" configuration.
Good source.
ahh, yes, but PJC does have internet filtering to keep you from going to porn sites and things like that. This internet filtering has the ability to log all outgoing internet traffic. So the answer is, YES, they do have the ability to track the sites that you visit from their PCs. Now, are they going to bust you for going to blogger.com? Probably not....
Logging isn't real-time, and blocking sites generally doesn't track back. Besides, the blog isn't PJC's worry, but PRMC is Paris's.
Please explain how logging isn't real-time?!?! You go to a site, it's logged. Seems real time to me.
You can then open that log and see a history of where everyone went from any particular PC so yes, you can track back and see where the PC went, say yesterday for example. Everything is encoded with a date and time.
That being said, PJC probably could care less about you visiting and posting to blogger.com. I just wanted to clear things up. I can't stand it when people think they know what they're talking about when they don't.
I too; think that this site provides an outlet for frustration as well as information. Its a free country, and we cherish the right to speak our minds. I would like to caution however; that using inividuals names , especially in the context of speculative "gossip" like the piece about J.R. that accused him of desecrating the chapel is both unfair and destructive to the basic premise that this site is putting forward ; namely that individuals should be treated fairly and with respect in the work place. Sharing information carries with it the obligation of being sure of the facts and not using individuals names.Otherwise this site loses credability and devolves into a cesspool of half truths and a means to destroy peoples reputation who have no means to fight back.Keep it factual keep it clean !
Let me phrase it this way: Keith or any of the happy MIS folks doesn't sit there going "gotcha".
Logging might be realtime, review is not.
I don't think JR was named as the one who was caught. His sins were outside the chapel. But you're right, it shouldn't be a who's-who of bedding arrangements. Hate to ask for censorship, but maybe some....
I say a BIG THANK YOU to fac_p for this site. We may not solve any thing, but at least the world knows what kind of crap we're putting up with.
FYI, It was'nt JR but it was a, loosely described,x-ray tech that was caught in the prayer room, not the chapel. The director was notified but choose the same action as the supervisor, stuck their heads in the sand and denied the facts until my ER director made inquires directly relating to all the facts>
Prime example of ...The Peter Principle, dont know what to do, so, do nothing, it will go away, or they will forget.
If you happen to run across a site that has applicable information, shoot it in as an email and I'll link to it. I just dropped in a link section which could get very long....
If you don't have a blind email account and are just commenting to me, put "no post" on the first line. Sometimes 'assuming' gets a lot of people in trouble.
I just changed the way the blog handles posts accessed from the sidebar. Some folks had expressed a wish to be able to print the post and comments together. There is a utility around that lets you print to a pdf file that you can send to people via email, rather than just a link. http://www.acrosoftware.com/
Totally free, cute pdf writer lets you create a file that can have pictures, text, screen shots, or whatever in it. There is two parts to the install--the writer and ghostscript which is a free postscript converter. ~7M download
From a comment: Ok, I'm stupid...could you give a "how to" guide on how to use the html thingies in post? I'd like to be able to boldface or italicize now and then....
A quick and dirty reference
Some examples work, some aren't implemented, you just have to try them and hit preview.... i,b, and a work.
Ignorance isn't stupidity, just a lack of experience. That can be rectified, stupidity can't.
Under the Leave your comment, there is a line that has a few tags that are useable. Start the area with the tag and then end it with the same, only with a / immediately before the letter in the tag.
OK! I am trying it!! Did it work? You could give EXAMPLES!
By the way, you can use your wordprocessor and then paste your comment into the box...then you have the use of spell check!
ctrl-a to highlight all the text,
ctrl-c to copy it,
ctrl-v to paste it in place.
